Sixteen of our SCH children attend schools in the community. Only one (Phoebe) had ever been enrolled in a school before coming into our care. Now, two of the sixteen go to the local School for the Blind, and the rest are in mainstream, private, English-language schools.
So do these children look like orphans to you? I think they look like healthy, happy schoolkids who know they're important and loved!

This school year ends in April and the next one starts in June. This next year we'd like to enroll Andrew, Esther, Jason, Jeanette, and Rebekah in local schools as well.
If you'd like to know how much it will cost us to send each child to school in June, you can download our budget for the next school year here. The estimate for school fees, books, and bus fees is based on actual quotes from the schools for the upcoming school year; the rest is based on our experience.
Please keep these children in your prayers. Because they were educationally deprived, many of them are behind in school compared to most children their age. In addition, several of them have speech, visual, mobility and/or learning challenges--they work so hard and have to overcome so many obstacles to make it in the community schools. But they're pioneers, and they're paving the way for other children with challenges in this town to have the best possible education. May God bless you for standing with them!

You know education is my passion and I am really interested in supporting this need.
question: is primary school free in india? Are these public schools or private schools? Does quality of education usually differ between the 2 with private being better?
They are glowing with pride, love and excitement. Really praying they settle into school really quickly.
